KING OF THE ICE
February 21, 2016
This is our famous ice fishing event, held annually for over 30 years!
Winter anglers from all over the region compete at White Lake. Prizes are awarded in various categories, and the over-all
winner is crowned "King of the Ice." Look for new youth categories this year! See the "King of
the Ice" page for further details.
KING OF THE ICE CANCELED ===
Ice conditions have been declared by the
authorities to be unsafe for this weekend. Unstable patches, open areas, and warm weekend weather will make it potentially
dangerous to have an excessive number of anglers on White Lake. We have been advised by the local authorities to cancel the
contest due to safety concerns. We know everyone was anxious to fish, but the safety of those who would be out on the ice
is first and foremost our concern. A great deal of time and effort goes into preparing for this annual event, and we would
not consider canceling without just cause. Checks will be mailed back to anyone who pre-registered. The annual winter gun
raffle fundraiser will still be drawn Sunday as scheduled. We hope to see you all again next year when winter gets back to

We at the Conservation
Club feel that today's youth are the ones who will support tomorrow's future environmental and conservation efforts.
We are pleased to be able to help these students, and to be able to continue to offer many youth-oriented safety and education
programs through our club.
DEC Youth Camp: Each year, the club sponsors 2
youth (ages 11-14) to attend the DEC summer camp program in DeBruce! Check out the DEC website at www.dec.ny.gov/education/29.html for more info on the program.
YOUTH SHOOTING SPORTS PROGRAM:
The club is hosting a Summer Shooting Sports program for kids 12 and older. We believe that today's youth are
the ones who will support tomorrow's future environmental and conservation programs. Getting them involved at a
young age will help encourage safe sportsmanship and a greater appreciation of the outdoors. Room is limited so contact
us if interested.
Members who can contribute their time, knowledge or supplies (ammo,
targets...) to our program are appreciated! If you are able to, or have offered to help or contribute, please contact us
to make arrangements. Thank you!
